The APA is delighted to announce the results of voting overnight at the WCPT general meeting in Geneva, at which Melissa Locke was voted Vice President for a four year period, until May 2023. Many of you will know Melissa as a former APA National President and member of several APA committees and groups over many years. She was made a life member of the APA in 2017 and previously served as a WCPT Board Director from 2015 until 2017.

Melissa has worked as a clinician in the paediatric and disability sectors and understands the important role physios play in promoting health and wellness, caring for the frail and unwell, and optimising function in those with disability and impairment. She is a Specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist, as awarded by the Australian College of Physiotherapists in 2008, and has held teaching positions at several universities. Her role as a clinical educator has helped her inherent understanding of the important link between research and clinical practice.

Melissa was strongly supported at the meeting by a proud Australian contingent including APA National President Phil Calvert, CEO Cris Massis and board directors Jenny Aiken and Darren Rivett.
