Owning or working in a physiotherapy business involves much more than clinical expertise. Managing people, navigating regulations and building a sustainable practice can be challenging, but you don't have to do it alone.
The Business Practitioner group is the only national network dedicated to supporting private practice owners, principals and practitioners. Whether you're just starting out or managing a well-established business, this group helps you overcome barriers, access expert resources and connect with peers who understand your world.
The Business group began in New South Wales in 1968, when a group of physiotherapists in private practice sought to take greater control of their professional and business future. The idea quickly spread and by the early 1970s, a national group was formed.
Since then, the group has worked closely with the APA to provide members with timely resources, professional development and business advice. Members range from practice principals to early-career physiotherapists, all sharing a common goal—to strengthen and sustain the business of physiotherapy.
Through PhysioHub, state committees, professional development events and national meetings, members can connect, share experiences and collaborate on issues shaping private practice today.
Every two years, the group plays a leading role in organising the Business and Leadership Conference, which explores key challenges facing the profession and equips members with new business insights and leadership skills.
Join the APA today to gain access to the Business Practitioner community on PhysioHub, exclusive member benefits and resources to help you thrive in private practice.
