Lecture

Physiotherapy and orofacial pain

In this lecture, we will explore the art and science of physiotherapy in the assessment and management of orofacial pain.

Karri will discuss the pathophysiology involved in orofacial pain and how to apply trigeminocervical specific neuroscience and pain education.

Case studies will include common orofacial pain presentations, such as trigeminal neuralgia, temperomandibular dysfunction and post traumatic trigeminal neuropathy, including what to look out for in your assessment to guide differential diagnosis and client focused treatment.

Karri will also provide some practical tips and tricks when it comes to the treatment of these pain conditions.
