Sensor technology to Manage Load in MSK Conditions

Load management is important in the treatment of many musculoskeletal conditions in athletic and general populations, and the use of sensors to manage load is a growing area of interest and research. Dr Fuller's current projects are investigating the use of inertial measurement units (IMUs) in elite sport to understand the foot-ground interface in rugby league, aiming to understand mechanical player load and potential performance and injury consequences. This presentation will provide a background on the current state of play on the use of IMUs, and more broadly, will present an overview of the use of sensor technology in managing load management and injury risk profile in various musculoskeletal conditions. It will draw on Dr Fuller's previous experience, current research and will cast forward into the future.
