Beyond the Biopsychosocial: Embracing Complexity

Beyond biopsychosocial physiotherapy: embracing complexity is a clinically focussed presentation by Dr Jenny Setchell, NHMRC Fellow in Physiotherapy at The University of Queensland. Dr Setchell will discuss her award-winning, international research findings on how to integrate the psychological, social, political and ethical aspects of physiotherapy, and how findings can be immediately applied in practice to optimise patient outcomes. She will discuss findings from diverse patient populations such people with low back pain flare, knee osteoarthritis and muscular dystrophy encouraging us to move beyond biopsychosocial physiotherapy towards embracing complexity.Dr Setchell also has 20+ years clinical experience, principally as a musculoskeletal/sports physiotherapist.
