Advanced Taping Session

This is an advanced taping session for 2 - 4th year students who are members of the APA.

Students are asked to bring a towel each to use during the session and to bring a tank top and shorts to wear.

Students to bring their own blunt or tape scissors please.

Maria Constantinou


Dr Maria Constantinou, PhD, MPhSt(Sports), BPhty, GradCertEd is an APA Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist, an International Registered Sports Physical Therapist and Fellow of the Australian Sports Medicine Federation. Maria is a Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy, Australian Catholic University, and previously worked at Griffith University and The University of Queensland. Maria was awarded her PhD in 2016. Maria is Secretary on the Executive Board of the International Federation of Sports Physical Therapy and a Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy Australia committee member. Maria was the Polyclinic and Team Physiotherapy Programs Coordinator for the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, and has extensive clinical experience, having also worked as a Sports Physiotherapist at many major games including the Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 Olympic Games, the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games, the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games, the Port Moresby 2015 Pacific Games and the Vanuatu 2017 Pacific Mini Games. Maria's clinical, teaching and research interests comprise the prevention and management of sports injuries, sports and therapeutic taping, reflective practice in health education and gait and function in hip osteoarthritis, the focus of her PhD studies. Maria's publications include the book Therapeutic Taping for Musculoskeletal Conditions which is translated in several languages. Maria's passion for the international advancement of sports physiotherapy and supporting physiotherapy in developing countries has seen her involved in the establishment of programs in the Pacific Nations and presenting in over 20 countries at national and international conferences, workshops, and professional development events.
