Office ergonomics

This half-day practical course extends beyond the basic knowledge covered in the OHPA Level 1 course.

The course is a 50/50 mix of discussion and practical work and covers:
- Practical skills in preparing for and conducting Office ergonomic assessments
- The risks involved in sedentary work and how best to manage that risk at an individual and organisational level
- Report writing skills
- How to use our Physiotherapy knowledge to get an edge in this competitive field

Prerequisites

  • This course is only available to qualified and AHPRA registered physiotherapists and occupational therapists.

Yvonne Hinch


Yvonne Hinch (BSc Physio, Grad Dip Safety Science) APAM HFESA, is an occupational health physiotherapist, currently working as a senior human factors specialist at the Asset Standards Authority within Transport for NSW (TfNSW). Yvonne has more than 25 years of professional experience, including practicing as a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist in Australia, the USA, England and South Africa. Yvonne moved into occupational health physiotherapy in 2004, completing a Post Graduate Diploma in Safety Science at UNSW in 2006. As an occupational health physiotherapist, Yvonne has worked within large organisations, including TfNSW, Australia Post and Deloitte, as well as consulting to a range of other industries such as pharmaceutical, banking and education. As a consultant Yvonne assisted organisations with ensuring their WHS legal compliance, as well as providing a range of ergonomic/human factors services to improve work efficiencies and reduce errors and injuries. As a human factors specialist within TfNSW, Yvonne is involved in the integration of human factors into all areas of asset and system development and in setting the standard for the integration of human factors required by engineering organisations undertaking work for TfNSW. Yvonne has also been involved in the initial testing of new rail safety systems and regularly facilitates seminars with industry in order to help up skill them in the area of human factors.
