He was appointed as on-site Physiotherapist at the World Cup Shooting Competition and the Sydney Olympic Games 2000. He completed his Acupuncture training at Sydney Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SITCM). He re-established NSW ADNG in 2015 and chaired the committee until 2017.He received a NSW Branch Award for Contribution to an APA National Group (ADNG) in 2018. He has been conducting the introduction lecture on acupuncture and dry needling with other speakers for APA in the past seven years. He became the chair of NSW ADNG again in 2020 and has been coordinating reviews of research articles, and focusing on the development of the new TCM Acupuncture training modules for ADNG. He has delivered numerous acupuncture workshops for Physiotherapists. From 2018 to 2019, as a visiting scholar to National Institute of Complementary Medicine (NICM) at Western Sydney University, he completed a research project investigating the effect of acupuncture on Conditioned Pain Modulation and presented at 2019 APA Conference as an invited speaker.
Chak Lun Allan Fu
Dr Allan Fu: Bachelor of Science (Hons)Physiotherapy (HKPU), Master of Sports Medicine and Health (CUHK), Postgraduate Diploma in Acupuncture (HKBU), Doctor of Philosophy PhD (University of Sydney)Dr Fu is a Physiotherapy lecturer and one of the unit co-ordinators of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at the Faculty of Medicine and Health, Sydney University. He has diverse experiences in the practice of Physiotherapy and Acupuncture in various clinical settings in Sydney and overseas. Allan completed his Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Biomechanics at Sydney University. Collaborating with local and overseas institutes, his research focuses are clinical sports biomechanics, motor control and neuromuscular rehabilitation, exercise interventions, acupuncture and dry needling. Allan is a member of NSW Acupuncture and Dry Needling Committee (ADNG) and the academic and clinical research lead of the NSW Acupuncture and Dry Needling Group (ADNG) of Australian Physiotherapy Association. He is also member of Sydney Southeast Asia Centre and the Charles Perkins Centre in Sydney.
