The biomechanics and pathological foot

Are you interested in that complex beast at the end of your lower limb? Then join us to talk feet. This will cover some important functional anatomy and biomechanics at the foot, gait concepts, as well as pathological conditions and some ideas on assessing and treating these. It even has an unexpectedly French flavour.

Join us at 6.00pm for pizza before the lecture starts.

Jaquelin Bousie

Jaquelin Bousie is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Health at the University of Canberra and completed her PhD at the University of Queensland in 2014. She has nearly 20 years' experience as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist both in general practice and elite sport. Her research focuses on lower limb musculoskeletal conditions particularly investigating the function and role of the foot. This includes the role of the foot in musculoskeletal and sporting injuries, especially in running and cycling, as well the management of the diabetic foot. She also delves into other research areas such as injuries in cycling and soccer, biomechanics (perhaps due to a previous engineering career), physical activity, and lateral hip pain.
