Multidisciplinary Management Lower Anterior Resection Syndrome

Deb Sinclair (Clinical Nurse Consultant) and Muirna Hamill (Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist) are part of a multidisciplinary team trialing interdisciplinary support for patients with Lower Anterior Resection Syndrome (LARS).

LARS is a debilitating cluster of symptoms that many patients experience after lower anterior resection of the bowel for conditions like diverticulitis and bowel cancer. Patients may experience faecal incontinence or urgency, frequent or fragmented bowel movements, emptying difficulties, and increased intestinal gas.

Come and learn about LARS and how you can support these patients in managing their symptoms and directing them towards the right health care professionals to improve their quality of life.

Please note: this is a face to face session at APA WA Office and not recorded or delivered via zoom.
