Barbell fundamentals for physiotherapists
Barbell lifts are arguably the most synonymous lifts associated with gym and resistance training. They present themselves as a useful tool to be utilised by physiotherapists during the rehabilitation process.
Unfortunately, during our undergraduate training we lack the time to thoroughly practice these fundamental lifts and break down the specifics of their technique and applications. As such, SEPA is proud to present Barbell Fundamentals to fill the void and provide physiotherapists with the opportunity to learn, understand and importantly practice barbell squats, bench press and deadlifts under the guidance of physiotherapists who apply these methods in daily practice.
Areas covered:
• - Why and when to use barbells
• - Barbell lifting safety
• - Fundamentals for squat bench and deadlift
• - Common faults physiotherapists need to be able to identify during these lifts
• - How to correctly coach a novice lifter in technical basics
• - What to do to adjust technique difficulty or work around pain
This workshop is held at Roar Fitness 24/7 (Bibra Lake).
