2022 VIC Branch Winter Breakfast

Join us for our annual Vic Branch Winter Breakfast.

Our keynote speaker, Anne Holland, will be presenting 'Physiotherapy management of Long COVID'.

Symptoms that persist beyond 12 weeks occur in approximately half of those with COVID-19 infection. Persistent symptoms are not related to the severity of the initial illness, and occur equally frequently in those who were admitted to hospital and those who were managed in the community. In contrast, disability following COVID-19 infection is strongly related to the severity of the acute illness.

This presentation will review current knowledge on the presentation and causes of Long COVID, and highlight the challenges faced by people living with this condition. Evidence for physiotherapy management of people with persistent symptoms or disability will be presented, as well as the broader rehabilitation needs of people with Long COVID.

Panellists:

- Charles Malpas, Neuropsychologist

- Louis Irving, Respiratory Physician
