Embracing AI opportunity while maintaining responsibility

Artificial intelligence (AI) has come to dominate the tech sphere over the past five years and its influence has spread into other fields, including healthcare.

Its growing presence has prompted the APA to release a position statement on the use of AI in physiotherapy.

While other bodies such as Ahpra have already released statements about AI, we felt it was important to provide guidance specific to physiotherapy.

Triple titling is icing on the cake

For most physiotherapists, achieving APA titling in a speciality area represents the culmination of years of study, clinical reflection and professional growth. That landmark decision transformed physiotherapy in this country and paved the way for Australia to become a global leader in first contact physiotherapy. We look back at the people, politics and courage behind one of the most significant turning points in the profession’s history.
