ACTIVATE consensus on physical activity assessment, prescription and promotion in clinical practice

ACTIVATE consensus on physical activity assessment, prescription and promotion in clinical practice

The ACTIVATE consensus on physical activity assessment, prescription and promotion in clinical practice was developed by an international team of researchers led by Danish physiotherapist and researcher Kristian Thorborg, with support from the International Federation of Sports Physical Therapy (now known as the International Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy Association). Three Australian physiotherapists and researchers – Professor Maria Constantinou MACP, Associate Professor Joanne Kemp FACP and Professor Anthony Schneiders – were members of the consensus team.

Based on the World Health Organization (WHO) 2020 Guidelines on physical activity and sedentary behaviour, the consensus provides a framework of 19 recommendations for physical activity assessment, prescription and promotion in clinical practice.
