An active August starts here.

Fit4Physio is the PRF’s signature fundraising event. Throughout August, why not get involved and help the PRF by cycling, running, walking, swimming, or any daily activity that promotes the benefits of regular movement?

You can sign up to Fit4Physio here.

Fit4Physio is the PRF’s signature fundraising event. We’re encouraging members to be sponsored by friends, family and peers to get physical by cycling, running, walking, swimming, or any daily activity that promotes the benefits of regular movement throughout August. The sponsors will be asked to donate through MyCause, the PRF’s online fundraising platform.

The fundraising effort will allow the PRF to allocate further research grants, which contribute to the physiotherapy profession’s evidence base and support new researchers in their careers. Key findings from a recent study into the impact of the PRF indicate that:

  • The PRF has built research capacity and developed the careers of researchers.
  • Contributed to the evidence base of the profession.
  • Informed policy, clinical practice and education.
  • Enabled further research funding – $47.5 million, of which $8.6 million would not have been available without the support of the PRF.
  • For every $1 invested by the PRF, an additional $6.35 of further funding has been generated.

Many grant recipients have gone on to distinguished academic careers, generated funding for their research from other sources and become world-leading experts. Research outputs have impacted many different areas of clinical physiotherapy and influenced practice worldwide.

Given the competitive nature of medical research funding, the PRF is an essential resource for supporting and developing physiotherapy research not funded by other bodies, so why not support your profession and get involved?
