Physios warn of injury risk as Australians return to community sport post-lockdown

Sports clubs and players are being urged to ensure they are match fit before they hit the court or field as coronavirus restrictions ease and Australians return to normal life.

Leading physiotherapists are concerned that ‘stay at home’ restrictions could exacerbate falls and poor physical function in older people.

A team of physiotherapists from around Australia, with clinical and academic expertise in exercise and other forms of physical activity for older people and people with mobility limitations, have developed a new website to support older Australians to stay active – safely – at home during COVID-19.

Equality across gender, should we talk about it? #IWD2020

International Women’s Day will be held on 8 March. So, quite appropriately, the editor of our InMotion magazine asked me to focus this piece on my reflections and experiences as a woman in leadership. In the spirit of openness, I’ll admit I felt an instinctive reservation to write about this.

APA advocacy during COVID-19

Our members like many allied health workers are focused on the general health and wellbeing of the community. The COVID-19 pandemic places an added level of complexity and concern for patient care. The current situation is significantly affecting services and businesses everywhere. Our priority will always be with patients, the safety of practice staff and continuity of your practices.
