Quality Innovation Performance (QIP) has been endorsed by the Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) as the preferred provider for the Physiotherapy Accreditation Program. QIP is part of the AGPAL Group of Companies and is Australia’s most comprehensive accreditation company. QIP is a not-for-profit health promotion charity and delivers accreditation and support services across the entire health and human service continuum, from community services and primary healthcare, to secondary and tertiary healthcare organisations. QIP’s vast experience ensures a simple, streamlined and uncomplicated process. The APA Board of Directors is confident that a partnership with QIP delivers a valuable accreditation program for the physiotherapy industry.
In 2011 the Program and the Standards for Physiotherapy Practices(8th Edition: 2011 Update) were jointly reviewed by the APA and QIP following industry feedback. The review streamlined the standards and simplified the accreditation process, reducing the time required for physiotherapy practices to self-assess against the standards.
The revised edition has five standards and takes into account external environment developments relating to accreditation, such as the release of the National Safety and Quality Health Service standards. The APA standards aim to help private sector physiotherapy practices to deliver safe, high-quality healthcare and embrace continuous quality improvement as good business practice.
