Symposia and Forums

2024 ACT Forum

Join us for canapés and drinks at the annual ACT Forum—the premier event for Physiotherapists and their industry colleagues.

Our keynote speaker Mark Hancock, will present ‘RESTORE study, what does it mean for physiotherapists and what next?'

Mark will discuss the RESTORE study and other recent research supporting the shift to a biopsychosocial approach when managing chronic musculoskeletal pain. The RESTORE trial investigated the use of cognitive functional therapy for the treatment of chronic low back pain, finding significant and sustained reductions in disability and other outcomes. New findings, not yet published, including 3-year follow up results, moderation (who responds best) and mediation analyses (how the treatment is working) will be presented. Results from the recent WalkBack trial will also be presented. The WalkBack trial studied a progressive and individualised walking and education program for the prevention of recurrence, demonstrating significant reductions in the risk of recurrence and associated care-seeking. The talk will conclude with a discussion on how these positive findings can be applied in real world clinical practice.

Early Bird Prize: Register before 22nd October and you could win a $100 ASICS voucher or 1 x $150 Therapeutic Pillows Australia voucher. There will also be 2 Lucky door prizes sponsored by Asics and Wine Direct Voucher.

** Please note this is a LIVE event and will not be recorded.
