Risk Management in People Handling

As Physiotherapists we undertake a range of tasks that could put us out our clients at risk due to our handling practices. This session will delve into Risk Management through considering Care Plan/Transfer Plan development, case studies showing where Risk Controls have been successful in reducing hazardous Manual tasks, but also some instances where injuries (or worse) have occurred. This is the third in the People Handling series and follows on from the legislation season that was presented in the first webinar of this series.

People handling across the lifespan webinar series: This lecture series will take a deep dive into a variety of issues surrounding the manual handling of people, a topic that impacts almost every area of physiotherapy. Physiotherapists are known experts and often act as leaders in the prescription of person handling in the health, community, disability and aged care sectors. Sessions will be delivered throughout 2024 and 2025 in a webinar format to improve access for all members.

This series is a joint collaboration between the following APA specialty groups: Occupational Health, Gerontology, Neurology, Disability, Paediatrics, Cancer, Palliative Care and Lymphoedema, Animal, Cardiorespiratory and Advanced Practice.
