The Application and Benefits of Dry Needling and Acupuncture in Clinical Practice

Join the NSW Acupuncture and Dry Needling committee for an evening of demonstrations by practitioners experienced with dry needling and acupuncture on different conditions and lead in to discussion of principles behind treatment choice.

Learning Outcomes:

- Exploring evidence-based practice in the application of Dry Needling and Acupuncture

- Case studies with a focus on the lower back and lower limb regions

- Demonstration of Needling techniques

- Discussion of clinical reasoning and applicability in various populations

Seyed Faraz Majlessi


Faraz Majlessi is an APA Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist, clinical educator, and a private practice owner. Experienced in managing Musculoskeletal and Chronic pain disorders in adults and seniors, his knowledge stems from work across Australia and internationally.

Micky Yim


Micky is a physiotherapist with a special interest in acupuncture. Having graduated as aphysiotherapist from La Trobe University, Vic. Australia in 1980, she commenced studyingacupuncture in 1997, which she continues today. As a holistic physiotherapist she believes thebody has the ability to heal itself and it's the role of the practitioner to facilitate that process.Nothing excites her more than getting people well physically.Micky has trained in traditional acupuncture and undertook training in Japan. She has specialinterest in treating musculoskeletal complaints, woman health and fertility, and paediatricdisorders by regulating the autonomic nervous system.Micky has extensive experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, including having her ownprivate practice for 17 years. She joined the Edgecliff practice in 2004, where her main work is inspinal and movement rehabilitation in conjunction with exercise and movement therapy.Micky is a member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association. She is the current chairperson forthe Acupuncture and Dry Needling Group (ADNG) (NSW Branch); the ADNG committee memberof the National Group; and member of the Australian Society of Acupuncture Physiotherapist(ASAP).In her leisure, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She likes reading, the opera,Iyengar yoga practice, learning and practising meditation.
