Saddle Soreness and other genitoperineal complaints

Saddle Soreness and other genitoperineal complaints such as skin irritation, abrasions, fissures, nodules, swelling and numbness are common in both male and female cyclists! Especially women riders struggle with serious complaints and often feel embarrassed to talk about it. We need to raise awareness, break the taboo and empower cyclists to prevent these complaints in the first place. A bike fit, appropriate clothing, the right skin care and a good saddle can alreally make the difference. But every rider is unique and our genitals are not really made for sitting on a bicycle for hours every day. So in addition optimal acute care and treatment are essential in secondary and tertiary prevention. Hedwig will share the most up to date evidence based guidelines and her personal clinical experience about innovative treatment options.
