Introduction to Spasticity

Spasticity is a common impairment following an upper motor neuron lesion and at times is poorly understood from a pathophysiology, assessment and management point of view.

This course is aimed to increase the knowledge of the pathophysiology of spasticity and the clinical skills of assessment, goal setting, treatment and overarching management of this common but complex impairment and will involve real patients that participants can assess and handle while incorporating theory with on the spot clinical application.

Emerging neurological physiotherapists or those with some experience managing neurological conditions and want to refine core skills in regard to spasticity assessment and management would benefit from attending this course.
