Assessment and management of common wrist and hand conditions
The wrist and hand pose a challenge for many therapists in musculoskeletal practice. It is a complex area anatomically and functionally, and therapists who are not treating them regularly often lack confidence with clinical examination, diagnosis, radiology interpretation and management.
This 2-day course will build your expertise and confidence when dealing with a wide range of wrist and hand injuries and pain problems. It is very hands-on, including practical skills for clinical examination, and some introductory thermoplastic splinting techniques. Your presenters, Ian Dowley and Jay-Shian Tan, have approx. 35 years of wrist and hand clinical experience between them.Who will benefit most from attending the course?
1. Physios in private MSk practice with intermittent exposure to patients with wrist and hand problems, seeking to increase their knowledge, skills and confidence in managing these patients.
2. Physios in the public sector working in outpatients, emergency departments, or the burns/plastics/hand therapy areas who wish to expand their knowledge and skills.
