Lecture

Breast Cancer and Pelvic Health

Breast cancer treatments can have far-reaching consequences beyond their primary intent, such as the onset or worsening of pelvic floor dysfunction, particularly urinary incontinence (UI). Our research highlights that women with breast cancer may experience UI at a higher rate, distress and impact than those without cancer. This lecture will explore the connection between breast cancer treatments and pelvic floor health, discuss the implications for quality of life, and present evidence supporting the feasibility and benefits of pelvic floor muscle training as a treatment option.
