Recognising restrictive practices: the ethical obligations

The Office of the Senior Practitioner – Disability, Department of Health and Human Services (Victorian Government) would like to invite you to a workshop presented in collaboration with Occupational Therapy Australia and the Australian Physiotherapy Association.

The workshop will be presented by the Integrated Health Care Team, Office of the Senior Practitioner – Disability and will cover the following:

• Definitions of restrictive practices under the Disability Act 2006 and NDIS Rules 2018 (Behaviour Support and Restrictive Practices).

• How to identify restrictive practices within service settings, family homes and the community.

• Understanding therapeutic devices and devices for safe transportation.

• The role of allied health professionals in recognising and working to reduce restrictive practices.
