Adherence to exercise in MS populations, especially influenced by 2020 national/international events

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a disease of the central nervous system.

MS results in a heterogeneous array of symptoms, including physical and psychological disability, which reduces quality of life. Exercise has been established as beneficial in both symptom management and disease progression in MS. In recent years there has been a major increase in research into the benefits and application of exercise and physical activity in MS, and this talk will summarise what current recommendations are.

The holy grail of maintaining long term physical activity and exercise behaviour in people with MS will be discussed in terms of international research, and the impact of 2020 events will be placed into the MS context in relation to positive health behaviours.
