Despite a number of current initiatives, the challenges of over treatment, over diagnosis and over imaging, possible harms by inappropriate interventions continue in modern medicine.
The symposium will explore the current research literature of the possible advantages and disadvantages of common interventions to manage knee and hip conditions. It will also cover some of the latest research in informed decision making, together assisting physiotherapists in discussing appropriate interventions with their patients in a shared decision making process.
Each session will include individual presentations by Specialist Physiotherapists* or recognised physiotherapy experts, Specialist Physicians and Orthopaedic Surgeons in the relevant area, followed by a panel discussion with the presenters, where symposium participants will be invited to submit questions.
