In 2020, the PRF engaged Survey Matters to evaluate the impact of PRF grant funding on research capacity, knowledge production and clinical practice in the physiotherapy profession over the past 30 years. PRF Grant Recipients were invited to complete an online survey.

2020 has been an exciting year for the PRF. This year’s activities were designed to ensure that the PRF continued to build the evidence base and value of the profession, through both strategy and researchers led activities.

Earlier this year The University of Melbourne in collaboration with researchers at the University of Queensland and Flinders University, invited Australian Physiotherapists to participate in a Physiotherapy Research Foundation funded project which investigated the effectiveness of Telehealth by physiotherapists in Australia during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr Joanna Diong discusses the impact the PRF has had on advancing research and, ultimately, patient care. She encourages others to join the Grants Review Committee.

The Grants Review Committee has a new chair after the appointment of Associate Professor Cathy Said to the role at the end of last year.
