ACP Credentialing
Titling credential
The ACP confers Titling to physiotherapists who meet the credentialing requirements. Physiotherapists awarded the Titling credential must use the following credential designation:
APA Titled <field of practice> Physiotherapist
e.g. J Smith, APA Titled Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist

Specialist Physiotherapist credential
The ACP confers Specialisation in the following fields of practice:
- Cardiorespiratory
- Gerontology
- Musculoskeletal
- Neurology
- Occupational Health
- Paediatrics
- Pain
- Sports and Exercise
- Women’s, Men’s and Pelvic Health
- Research
Physiotherapists awarded the Specialisation credential must use the following credential designation:
Specialist <field of practice> Physiotherapists (as awarded by the Australian College of Physiotherapists in <year>)
e.g. J Smith, Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist (as awarded by the Australian College of Physiotherapists in 2024)
Physiotherapists who have not been awarded the Specialist Physiotherapist credential may not use the word Specialist. Refer to the FAQ page for more information.
Fellowship by Original Contribution
The Fellowship by Original Contribution pathway is currently paused and will cease with the launch of the Specialist Research Pathway, which is currently in its pilot phase. Physiotherapists previously awarded ‘Fellowship by Original Contribution’ are requested to use the Specialist Research Physiotherapist credential designation e.g. Specialist Research Physiotherapist (as awarded by the Australian College of Physiotherapists in <year>), as approved by Board.
‘Dr’ title
The APA permits the use of the 'Dr' title by a member who has been awarded the Specialist Physiotherapist credential. Use of the ‘Dr’ title is at the discretion of the Specialist Physiotherapist and remains consistent with the advertising guidelines under the National Law. When using the ‘Dr title’ the Specialist physiotherapist must ensure that it is clear to the public that they are not presenting themselves as a medical doctor.

ACP Certificate of Titling/Specialisation Re-issuing
Members and Fellows can request a replacement certificate if their original certificate has been lost or damaged.
- Digital certificate: Provided free of charge
- Printed certificate: AUD $40 (including shipping).
Please allow 6–8 weeks for processing.
To request a replacement certificate, please submit the 2026 Certificate of Titling and Specialisation Re-issuing Request Form.

College Knowledge Exchange Series
The College Knowledge Exchange (CKE) delivers cutting‑edge clinical insights from leaders across the profession. Each session is presented by expert physiotherapists and Fellows of the Australian College of Physiotherapists, offering a unique opportunity to deepen your clinical knowledge, challenge your thinking and connect with peers nationwide. Every session features a focused 20‑minute presentation followed by an interactive Q&A and peer‑to‑peer discussion designed to translate knowledge directly into practice.
And from 2026, all CKE sessions are now free for APA members, giving you direct access to expert insights and live discussion with College Fellows. After each event, you’ll also enjoy free ongoing access to CKE session recordings through the ACP page on cpd4physios, ensuring you can revisit and deepen your learning anytime.
Please note that past sessions (2025) remain exclusive to ACP members.
