College Knowledge Exchange Series

The College Knowledge Exchange (CKE) is a complimentary series of presentations delivered by Fellows and Titled Members of the College exclusively for FACPs and MACPs. The CKE series provides a great opportunity to connect with the College network and learn from the experience of your esteemed College peers. Each event includes a presentation followed by the opportunity for Q&A and peer-to-peer interaction.

ACP credentialing and membership

Titling credential 

The following credential designation was approved by the APA Board in August 2024 and applies* to all Titling pathways:
APA Titled <field of practice> Physiotherapist 

  • J Smith, APA Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist

*the Titling designation is to be applied to all current and historically Titled Physiotherapists.

Specialist Physiotherapist credential

Specialist <field of practice> Physiotherapists (as awarded by the Australian College of Physiotherapists in 20YY)

  • J Smith, Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist (as awarded by the Australian College of Physiotherapists** in 2024)

Note: Using a specialist title is not recognised under national registration. Refer to the Physiotherapy Board of Australia: Information on the use of Specialist Titles in Physiotherapy for more information.

Fellowship by Original Contribution

Use of Dr title

The APA is pleased to recognise the significant achievement and contribution to the profession by awarding the title of Doctor to any member who has successfully been awarded Specialist Physiotherapist or Fellowship by Original Contribution by the ACP.

The use of the Doctor title is optional to any member who has successfully been awarded Specialist Physiotherapist or Fellowship by Original Contribution by the ACP. Use of the Doctor title will be at the discretion of the Fellow. When applied as described, the expression of Doctor title remains consistent with the advertising guidelines under the National Law. The requirement under the National Law is to be clear with the public that the practitioner is not claiming to be a medical doctor.
