Frailty Webinar Series - Early Identification Matters: The Importance of Frailty Screening for Physiotherapists

This session will explore why frailty screening is essential in physiotherapy practice, particularly in the context of an ageing population. It will outline the evidence for early detection, the unique role physiotherapists play, and the reasons routine screening is not yet widespread. Participants will be introduced to practical frailty screening tools and gain simple, actionable ideas to confidently consider embedding them into their workplace.

Alison is an APA Titled Gerontology Physiotherapist with over thirteen years' experience across the WA Health system, bringing strong clinical expertise, program co-ordination capability, and a commitment to evidence based, sustainable services. With a particular interest in gerontology, Alison completed a Master of Applied Gerontology in 2023, with her final project investigating frailty screening tool awareness and use within Australian Physiotherapy practice. Alison has also been an active member of the WA GPA Committee since 2022.
