Hurt Is Not Harm: Rewriting the Rules of Pain in Sport

Pain is common in sport, but it does not always map neatly to tissue damage, injury severity, or an athlete's capacity to perform. This interactive session will explore how pain science, sport culture, athlete beliefs, and training load influence clinical decision-making across the rehabilitation-to-performance continuum.
Using practical case studies, we will unpack common challenges in managing athletes who are training or competing with pain. Attendees will consider how to distinguish pain that warrants protection from pain that can be safely navigated, communicate uncertainty without creating threat, and use load modification, education, and graded exposure to support confident return to performance.

Login instructions including link details will be sent to registrants the day before the event. If login instructions are not received (please check your inbox as well as junk/spam folders) by close of business the day before the lecture or if you have any questions, please contact Emmanuel -Emmanuel.Manalad@australian.physio
