Where Physical and Mental Recovery Meet: A Trans-Tasman Physiotherapy Forum

Mental health, trauma, pain and physical recovery are closely connected. Physiotherapists regularly support people whose recovery is affected by distress, fear, disrupted sleep, persistent pain and difficulty returning to everyday life.

This Trans-Tasman forum will explore physiotherapy within New Zealand's ACC Sensitive Claims Service and Australian schemes such as NSW CTP and workers' compensation. Speakers will share how physiotherapists use mental health-informed skills to support recovery .

A facilitated panel will consider lessons for Australia, professional scope and opportunities to improve access to integrated care. The forum is relevant to physiotherapists across all areas of practice, and no mental health specialisation is required.
