Item 121 to 125 of 154
Join us for an engaging APA professional development session led by Rob King, Principal of
Coretex Consulting and a highly regarded Human Factors Engineering specialist. Drawing on
extensive experience across major and critical infrastructure projects, Rob will provide practical
insight into the application of human factors within complex, high-risk environments.
This session is tailored for occupational health physiotherapists who are increasingly intersecting
with human factors principles in their work. While many clinicians have foundational exposure to
ergonomics, Rob will clarify the distinction between occupational physiotherapy, human factors
and human factors engineering as a discrete professional discipline. He will also outline the depth
of knowledge, methodologies, and scope of practice required to operate at an expert level in this
field.
Please feel free to join us for our SA OHP committee Xmas gathering immediately following the session.
Face to face lecture:
This is a face to face lecture only and will not be recorded or live streamed.
This practical course will describe the materials that are available, their differences and how to apply them. It will cover casts to the upper and lower limbs, including short arm, scaphoid and short leg synthetic casts.
Physiotherapists are increasingly using dry needling for pain management and thereby improving function in conjunction with other physiotherapy approaches. This structured course meets the national APA and AHPRA recommendations for physiotherapists to practice dry needling safely for musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries.
The sound knowledge of indications and contraindications for dry needling requires appropriate assessment and treatment skills. This course is designed to provide physiotherapists an opportunity to improve knowledge and skills of dry needling, and make them aware of guidelines for safe dry needling practices in a range of musculoskeletal conditions.
The Dry Needling Physiotherapy Level 1 course consists of two separate parts:
