Join us at the annual VIC Branch Winter Breakfast.
Our keynote speaker, Prof Cathy Said, will be presenting 'Falling short: Bridging the gap between evidence and practice in falls prevention'.

Falls are a major health concern in Australia, affecting one in three older adults each year.
Despite strong evidence that falls can be prevented, intervention uptake remains low.
Physiotherapists are uniquely positioned to support falls prevention through risk identification, exercise prescription, and advocacy.
This presentation will provide an overview of recent evidence and guidelines, including the critical role of exercise. It will also explore challenges in implementing falls prevention evidence into practice and consider ways in which physiotherapists can help bridge this gap.
Panel discussion
A panel discussion will follow the presentation. Joining Cathy on the panel are:
- Dr Richard Kane - National Clinical Director of St Vincent's Virtual & Home, Clinical Program Director of Continuing Care at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne
- Stephen Peterson - Consumer Representative
