Academic Pathway

This pathway is currently offered to physiotherapists who have successfully completed an APA-recognised Master’s Degree and meet eligibility requirements. Information on the Academic pathway is outlined in the ACP Academic Titling Information Handbook (under review).

The following fields of practice have an academic pathway to Titling:

Current Ahpra registration without restrictions
Current membership of the Australian Physiotherapy Association
Current membership of the National Group to which you are applying for Titling (except those applying for Titled Research Physiotherapist)
Minimum continuous practice area experience requirements
Minimum recency of practice requirements
Undertaken 30 hours CPD in your selected practice area within the past three (3) years
Successfully completed an APA-Recognised Australian Postgraduate Master’s Coursework degree except Research Physiotherapist applicants who must have successfully completed an Australian Master’s by Research, Master of Philosophy or Doctor of Philosophy.
Overseas applicants must provide evidence of three (3) years continuous practice in Australia post full Aphra registration. Refer to the ACP Title Handbook for the required verification documentation.
