The ultimate goal of my research program is to improve continence care in women, specifically in older women. I want to increase accessibility by understanding urinary incontinence pathophysiology, ensuring that first-line interventions are improved, cost-effective, better-targeted and implemented.

APA Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist Craig Allingham recently released The Prostate Playbook, which has information and strategies to reduce prostate cancer onset and progression.



Craig has been working in men’s health physiotherapy for almost 20 years, focusing on prostate cancer post-treatment intervention, side effects of surgery and radiation, incontinence and erectile dysfunction, which were addressed in his first book Prostate Recovery MAP–Men’s Action Plan.

Treating persistent pelvic pain can be complex but can lead to improved outcomes.


Persistent pelvic pain is common but not normal, and recovery is possible, but how do I get this message across to my clients?


Persistent pelvic pain (PPP) is pain in the abdomen, pelvis or perineum. This type of pain is estimated to affect 15–25 per cent of women and 10 per cent of men. Here, I refer to PPP in women as this is my client group.

Friends and colleagues of Annette Innes, APAM, MACP, will be saddened to hear of her death on 14 August following a courageous and dignified battle with breast cancer.



Annette was a force of nature, with incredible energy, generosity and commitment to her family, her profession, her friends and her community.


She lived her life with courage and enthusiasm, enjoying extensive travelling, bushwalking, cooking, good food and wine, her community and her church.
