STP: what you need to know

On 1 July 2018, changes to the way businesses report information to the ATO will come into effect. Specifically, businesses with more than 20 employees are now required to report the tax and super information to the ATO each time they pay their employees. 


It is now time for businesses with less than 20 employees to ensure they are Single Touch Compliant from 1 July 2019.

A significant change to the Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2010 is about to come into effect. Specifically, the span of hours will change from the first full pay period commencing on or after 9 July 2019.

Tiered-pricing model scrapped


The APA has been working to strengthen the capacity for people with disability to access mainstream physiotherapy services.



The APA welcomed the announcement from the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) that it will scrap its tiered-pricing model in favour of a more sustainable increased hourly rate for physiotherapists working with and treating the complex health needs of Australians living with significant disabilities.

As part of an Award review, a final decision has been made regarding proposed changes to the Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2010.


This announcement has been split into two sections: a major change that is applicable from first full pay period commencing on or after 9 July 2019, and minor changes that will be applicable from the first full pay period commencing on or after 9 January 2019.
